Recruiting West Midlands Volunteer Access Champions (Applications close: 3rd July)

Culture Volunteer WM. I'm in.

Culture Volunteer West Midlands (a regional volunteering programme for volunteers in the arts and culture sector) are recruiting 16 people across the region, to be trained as Volunteer Access champions. This is a bespoke access training programme for people who currently work with volunteers to ensure that cultural organisations can understand and support volunteers with access requirements.

Volunteering is rewarding and valuable, providing a range of benefits for both volunteers and organisations. We are supporting organisations to expand these benefits beyond those who traditionally volunteer. Accessing these opportunities for those who face barriers and specifically those who identify as (d)Deaf, Disabled and Neurodiverse can be difficult.

We are supporting the sector to make sure that volunteering opportunities in the West Midlands are inclusive and accessible. The programme will create a greater understanding of access with a no ‘one size fits all’ approach and where experts by experience share their knowledge to help you build yours.

The Programme:

The course will be in person over 6 days, from July 23 to February 24, in Birmingham, Stoke on Trent and Wolverhampton.
