Launching the Culture Volunteer Knowledge Sharing Network

We are working with Birmingham Museums Trust, Creative Black Country, Stoke Creates and Open Theatre, Deaf Explorer and Frontline Dance to deliver Culture Volunteer WM.

Culture Volunteer WM brings social capital alongside cultural capital as a powerful mechanism to increase volunteering opportunities, create social change and have a positive impact on the West Midlands. Building on existing volunteer programmes in places like Stoke-on-Trent and the Black Country Culture Volunteer WM uses cultural experiences to support social change.

As part of the Culture Volunteer project, we are launching the Culture Volunteer Knowledge Sharing Network.

The network is open for all to join and engage with, whether you are a Culture Central member or not. We will be looking to host a mix of in-person and online sessions with the network to help understand the challenges around volunteering within the sector whilst sharing best practice from those who have seen results. We know there is a lot of fantastic work already taking place and we want to ensure this is shouted about as much as possible!

We will also be providing training opportunities for those who work with volunteers and volunteers themselves on topics that the network identifies will benefit those involved.

If you would like to join the network, please complete the sign-up form at the link below:

The network is being managed by Power of People, on behalf of Culture Central, and they will be in contact with all who register with the next steps. If you would like any further information about the network please contact Tom Bowkett at tom.bowkett@powerofpeople.org.uk
