Culture Central is the collective voice of the cultural sector in the West Midlands.
It convenes, challenges and connects to create opportunities through culture for places and people across the region
Culture Central has evolved considerably over the last 2 years and is now well-positioned as the Cultural Sector Support organisation for the region.
We are now looking to recruit a Chair to take us forward with our next phase.
To find out more, please explore the following:
A presentation of Culture Central’s values and priorities
A film showing some of our practical work over the past year
Please note that this is a voluntary role.
Alongside the role profile, we are looking specifically for someone who is able to help support the organisation with the following priorities:
Advocacy, Connection & Ecology:
Leveraging existing assets, sharing knowledge and creating the environments to connect freelancers, artists, leaders, organisations and partners at local, regional and national levels.
This means being well connected across a range of sectors that do not usually engage with the cultural sector to raise the profile of both the organisation, members and the fantastic work of the cultural sector.
Supporting cultural change, recovery, resilience and innovation of the sector. This means identifying opportunities, connections and innovations in how we can increase investment in the sector, especially post pandemic.
We are looking for someone who is dynamic, well-connected and independent of the Cultural Sector, who understands culture and creativity and will advocate for their importance in the region.
Our commitment to positive action.
We want our board to be truly representative of our region.
We aim to have 50% of our board from ethnically diverse backgrounds.
We will interview all those who express an interest who identify as (d)Deaf/Disabled.
We also want to ensure our board is as balanced as possible in terms of gender, class, age, sexual orientation.
