The Culture Central Board, Team and Members welcome Cassie Chadderton as the new Chair of Culture Central.
Cassie, a native West Midlander brings a wealth of experience, expertise and passion to the board, having previously been Director; Media and Stakeholder Relations at Arts Council England, Head of UK Theatre and now as Chief Executive of World Book Day.
“With the combined promise of Coventry City of Culture and the Commonwealth Games, and as the sector takes sure steps to recovering from the pandemic, it’s an exciting time to take on the role of Chair of Culture Central.
My love of arts and culture comes from the extraordinary range of culturally diverse and excellent opportunities that surrounded me as I grew up in Birmingham. I’m looking forward to working with Erica, Culture Central’s board and its members to do even more of what it does so well; helping the sector make the most of its collective power and creativity to be both resilient and representative of the people and places of the West Midlands.”
Cassie Chadderton takes over from Roisin Caffrey who has been Chair of Culture Central for 3 years.
Stephen Maddock OBE (Chief Executive of CBSO and Culture Central founding board member) said:
“The whole Board of Culture Central would like to thank Roisin for her great service as Chair over the last three years. Having only expected to be an interim chair, she ended up having to guide the organisation through a very tricky period; the fact that it is in such good health today, with a refreshed purpose and growing membership, is due in no small part to Roisin’s time, care and wisdom.”
Erica Love, Culture Central Director said:
“I would like to say a huge thank you to Roisin who has been a fantastic support and guide during the last two years. I am really excited to be working with Cassie as we build on the work over the last two years and continue to support our members and sector during what will be an exciting time for the region.”
Elizabeth Lawal, Culture Central Board Member said:
“Roisin has been an amazing chair! It’s been brilliant to see her execute such fantastic leadership over the last couple of years. We are incredibly excited to welcome Cassie to the board and back to the region, with her combined passion for representation, culture and collective collaboration. I look forward to seeing her champion the vision of Culture Central in the efforts of supporting the sector and making the West Midlands the best place for creativity, care, collaboration and the cultural epicenter of the UK.”
