Invictus Games Birmingham 2026 Consultation Session

Invictus Games Birmingham 2027 (IG27) have commissioned Culture Central and Outdoor Places Unusual Spaces, alongside arts consultant Amy Dalton-Hardy, to develop a bold and inclusive Culture and Arts Strategy for the Games.

The strategy will be incorporated into the IG27 festival programme, complementing the world-class adaptive sport competition with a vibrant cultural offer designed to celebrate creativity, community and connection. It will showcase the very best of Birmingham and the West Midlands’ rich and diverse cultural landscape, highlighting local talent, stories and voices on an international stage.

Through this collaboration, IG27 are proud to create opportunities for people from all backgrounds to engage with the Invictus spirit. The programme will explore innovative ways to bring together art, culture and the powerful narratives of the wounded, injured and sick (WIS) from the Armed Forces community.

As part of this work, we will be holding two cultural sector consultation sessions to understand more about IG27, the sector’s ambitions, activity and legacy for culture and arts linked to this exciting major event here in the West Midlands.

There will be two initial sector consultation sessions:

  • 4th June, 10.00am-11.30am - Online

  • 4th June, 3.00pm-4.30pm - The Core, Solihull (places limited)

You can sign up here.

While the Invictus Games will always be rooted in sport, creative storytelling and adaptive arts offer a unique and exciting opportunity to engage wider communities – amplifying diverse voices, celebrating the Invictus spirit, and connecting with the rich cultural landscape of the West Midlands. Alongside this, there’s real scope to dial up the fun factor and enhance the overall spectator experience.” Jules Merrison, Director of Impact for IG27
